Early bird deadline: January 19, 2026 A two-week summer cultural program in Iceland for North Americans over the age of 30: individuals, couples and family groups. Participants can either be of Icelandic descent or have a passion for Iceland. Learn more here. |

Did You Know...?
- Between 1875 and 1915 nearly 20% of Iceland’s population emigrated from Iceland to North America.
- They left Iceland for many reasons, including the harsh climate, poor socio-economic conditions, and the devastation following the eruption of the volcano Askja.

SNORRI ALUMNI INTERNSHIPEvery year two alumni, one from Canada and one from the US, are selected to spend the summer volunteering at the Icelandic Emigration Center in Hofsós. This opportunity is open to alumni of both Snorri and Snorri Plus.

SNORRI WEST ALUMNI INTERNSHIPSince 2023, one Snorri West alum has been selected each summer to serve as an intern in conjunction with the Icelandic festivals in Manitoba and North Dakota over the August long weekend. The intern can serve for up to four weeks.
