Hello Alumni of the Snorri Programs!
You may have heard that Snorri, Snorri West, and Snorri Alumni Internship programs have been cancelled for the second year in a row due to COVID-19. A Snorri West in Iceland weekend trip to some of the sites in Iceland related to North American emigration is being planned for June 4 - 6, 2021. The primary destination is Vesturfarasetrið, also known as the Hofsós Emigration Center. We invite you to join the 2020 and 2021 accepted Snorri West participants and a few others to learn more about the emigrant experience and to share your experiences as alumni of the Snorri or Snorri West programs. The proposed itinerary is as follows. You are welcome to meet the group in the Skagafjörður or Buðardal areas and participate in one, some, or all the activities as your time and interest allow. We have obtained a grant from Icelandic Roots to subsidize the full weekend price of 43,000 ISK for alumni.
