THE SNORRI PROGRAMSWhat Makes the Iceland-North America Connection Unique?
Between 1875 and 1915, an estimated 15%-20% of Iceland’s population emigrated from Iceland to North America.
They left Iceland for many reasons, including the harsh climate, poor socio-economic conditions, and the devastation following the eruption of the volcano Askja.
Did you know there are an estimated 250,000 people of Icelandic descent living in North America?
