Board Member since 2018
(Representing the Nordic Association)
Kristján Sveinsson was born in Blönduós and raised on a farm in North Iceland but has lived in Reykjavík for many years. He studied history in Reykjavík, Aarhus, and Oslo and has a wide variety of professional experience. He currently works for the Icelandic Parliament.
Kristján joined the Nordic Association (NA) because he is interested in Nordic cooperation. When the NA board asked him to join the board of the Snorri Foundation on their behalf, he agreed, though he knew very little about the Snorri Programs at the time. Having become more familiar with the programs, he sees how much of a positive impact they have. Kristján believes that increased international cooperation is always a good thing and that these programs in particular are perfect for people with a special interest in exploring the history, language, and culture of their ancestors and seeing where they once lived.
