When filling in your application form you are asked to write up your family tree as precisely as possible. Sending more information than requested for on the form is not necessary, at least not initially. Íslendingabók - The Book of Icelanders - a genealogical database, will process the information and the Program will contact relatives for you before arrival in Iceland. If travelling before or after the Program dates it is possible to contact relatives in the area you are travelling to. 
You will see how you are related to historical persons, famous Icelanders, other fellow Snorris and more.

During the cultural and educational part you will also get a lecture on genealogy.
